When We Meet
- The Board of Commissioners has three members who are elected to three-year, staggered terms.
- The Commission sets policy, establishes regulations and oversees the Cemetery budget.
- The Cemetery Department is administered by a Superintendent, appointed by the Commissioners, who has jurisdiction over all Town Cemeteries.
Meetings are held At 7:00 PM at the Cemetery Office Building in Waterside Cemetery on the second Tuesday in March, June, September and December (unless otherwise posted).
What We Do
The Cemetery Department is responsible for the delicate task of burying the deceased in a caring and timely manner. This Department is also responsible for the complete maintenance of Waterside Cemetery as well as Harbor View Cemetery. The Recreation and Parks Department maintains Old Burial Hill, Harris Street, Hooper Tomb and Green Street Cemeteries.
