All Bills are Due and Payable Within 30 Days of Issue
The Marblehead Water and Sewer Commission's "Water Shut-off for Non-Payment Policy" authorizes the Commission, by and through its commissioners, employees and/or contractors, to commence demand and termination procedures for accounts more than thirty (30) days in arrears.
Once a service termination order for non-payment of charges is issued and personnel dispatched, customers will be assessed a $100.00 off/on fee, a $20.00 reconnection fee and a $30.00 service charge to have service restored between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. or
a $160.00 service charge to have service reinstated between the hours of 3:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. or on weekends. Service will not be restored between the hours of 7:00 p.m. and 8:00 a.m.
The customer will be charged for all water passing through the meter whether used, wasted or lost by leakage. Delinquent accounts are subject to service termination. Unpaid water and sewer bills constitute a lien on real estate (Mass. General Laws Chapter 40, Sections 42A-42F).
Payments can be mailed to the Water and Sewer Commission, P.O. Box 1108, Marblehead, MA 01945.
Payments may also be made in person at the Water and Sewer Commission office located at 100 Tower Way, Building #11 (please do not mail payments to this address) or through the drop box located in the lobby of the National Grand Bank on Pleasant Street.
An online payment option
is also available for thirty (30) days after the date of the bill. Accounts beyond the thirty days or carrying a delinquent balance will not be able to be paid online. Please note that this online payment is not automatic and must be initiated by the payer each billing quarter.
